How does God Look like in Heaven
In this article, we will discuss what God looks like in Heaven. The information is collected from internet sources and from the Bible of Today’s.
Do we know what God God looks like?
What God looks like is just beyond our capability of describing and understanding. So God also gives us glimpses of what He looks to teach us the truth about Himself, not very necessary so that we can have an image of him in our minds.
Haven’t you ever wondered while sitting what God looks like? It is also probably the earliest question we used to ask in Sunday School. But, so many of us still got dumped down the answers(which are being told that God is a person with a big white beard up into the clouds somewhere) that as we became adults, we realized that do not just quite the work.
Fortunately, the Bible does give us some of the direct answers concerning the appearance of God.
What does the Bible actually say God looks like?
The Bible also talks about God’s traits in a variety of places. However, the Bible makes just two very particular points about what God looks like essential to understand.
First, God is spirit.
Versus like the Deuteronomy 4:15-19 Nate that God can also appear like a mountain of the fire and may differ from the idols that are particularly designed to look exactly like the human beings. John 4:24 boldly states, “God is spirit, and about his worshipers must worship in the spirit and the truth” ” 1 Timothy 1:17 refers to him as the “the King eternal, immortal, invisible.”
This also indicates that although God can appear in various forms, including the human form(later), he has no basic physical form.
Second, God has omnipresence.
Based on all the Bible verses like the Psalm 139:7-10 and Proverbs 15:3, this term also means that God is in all the places at once. This further indicates that God can be a spirit, or the whole idea of omnipresence does not work.
If God were the figure that we often see in the Sunday School cartoons, a massive man with a beard sitting just outside the universe and then just zooming down into the universe whenever someone may need him, he would be present in one part at a time.
Psalm 113:4-6 describes God as “enthroned on the high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and also the earth,” ” but this is a very poetic description, like Psalm 56:8, which describes God as the holding writers tears in a bottle. For God to be present everywhere at once, he can not have a basic form.
If God is Spirit, How can we know what he looks like?
Although that God the Father is spirit, the Bible also talks about Jesus being” ” the image of the invisible God.” Some theologians had also suggested that when God appeared to Abraham in Genesis 18, it was Jesus in a very pre-incarnate form.
We are never told much about what Jesus looks like, either. However, one of the Messianic prophecies, Isaiah 53, says that “He had no beauty or the majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.”
However, we see what God is like from Jesus example. He is God’s representative on the earth. Also, through belief in him, we will gain the ability to become much more like Christ and, therefore, nearer to God.
Proof of God’s Existence and appearance
Since God has actually no physical form, that raises the obvious question, “How can we know that God exists?” and, just as important, “what are the ways he will appear to us?” ” There are actually many arguments for the existence of God, different proofs that the people have put forward. Probably one of the most basic ones are these three:
Evidence from within
Some of the theologians have suggested that we all are just born with a very sense that there must be something out there, a God to pursue and find. John Clavin used the term sensus divinities to describe this kind of sense. Of course, this may be actually up for the debate. Still, it also sounds very similar to what the Bible says in Romans 2:14-15 about a sense of the morality written on the people’s hearts.
Suppose we also have an inherent sense of the morality present inside. In that case, that will lead to the question, “where does this sense of this morality inside?” ” Similarly, if we also feel an innate sense that there is something else which is present out there, that raises this question, “what is this sense for? Did something put it there?”
Evidence from Jesus
At a particular point, we will find that Jesus is one the Biggest Proof of God’s existence. The more we do try to understand what Jesus did and who Jesus was, the more we will be confronted with a straightforward fact: He claimed to be a God. Specifically, he did claimed to be the Son of Man, used in Daniel 7:3 to describe the Messiah.
He claimed that before Abraham was born, he was just born(John 8:58). When the Sanhedrin just asked him if he was the Messiah, Jesus replied, “I am, and you will see the son of the Mans sitting a the right hand of the Mighty One and Coming on the clouds of the heaven” ” (Mark 14:62)
Jesus repeatedly(although that sometimes guardedly and the only in the right place and the right time) claimed to be the God’s son. As C.S Lewis memorably put it just in a chapter of the Mere Christianity. Titled “A shocking Alternative,” ” the fact that just claimed to be the God means that we can only see him in just three ways.
